In a powerful gesture of support for community development, Protea Turf Equipment has sponsored a state-of-the-art SI630G cylinder mower to the Beaufort West Cricket Club. This sponsorship aims to enhance the quality of the club’s facilities, enabling them to continue providing a safe and engaging environment for the youth of Beaufort West.
How it started
The club’s chairman, Jacques Sederas, reached out to Sean Kollnick, Director of Protea Turf Equipment, and Nancy Dalton, Sales & Marketing, to request assistance in maintaining their cricket grounds. Sederas emphasized the vital role the club plays in the community, offering young people an opportunity to stay active and engaged through sport, while addressing social challenges such as crime, drugs, and vandalism.
The big idea
Understanding the importance of the club’s mission, Protea Turf Equipment responded by donating the SI630G machine, a premier mower designed for precision and durability. With its advanced features, the SI630G ensures the pitch meets professional standards, fostering an environment where players can excel.
Words from Sean
“Sports have the power to transform lives,” said Sean Kollnick. “When Jacques approached us, it was clear how committed the club is to creating positive change in Beaufort West. By supporting their efforts, we’re not just investing in cricket but also in the future of this community.”
Nancy Dalton added:
“The Beaufort West Cricket Club is a beacon of hope for local youth, providing them with opportunities to grow both on and off the field. We are honoured to contribute to their mission by ensuring they have the tools to maintain top-quality grounds.”
The Beaufort West community
The club has become a cornerstone of the Beaufort West community, offering a haven where young people can develop skills, build friendships, and stay away from negative influences. The addition of the SI630G machine will enable the club to maintain their pitch to professional standards, boosting their ability to host more matches and attract new talent.
The partnership underscores Protea Turf Equipment’s dedication to fostering community development through sport. By supporting grassroots cricket, the company is helping to provide young people in Beaufort West with opportunities to thrive, both on the field and in life.
