In a heartfelt gesture of support for an extraordinary cause, Protea Turf Equipment has donated a Rotary 610 machine to TLC Children’s Home, an organization with a 31-year legacy of rescuing and placing abandoned babies from heartbreaking circumstances. The machine will help maintain the large grounds of TLC’s property, ensuring the children have a safe and beautiful space to call home.
How it began
The journey began in January 2022 when Tommy Jarvis and Kay Jones reached out to Protea Turf Equipment seeking assistance with their grounds’ maintenance. Moved by TLC’s inspiring work, Sean Kollnick, Director of Protea Turf Equipment, and Nancy Dalton, Sales & Marketing, decided to take action.
“When we heard about TLC’s mission and the impact they’ve had over three decades, we knew we wanted to support them,” said Kollnick. “This donation is about more than just a machine; it’s about investing in the lives of the children who call TLC home.”
Since its inception, TLC has placed over 900 abandoned babies in loving homes across the globe. These children often come from devastating circumstances, found in unimaginable places like rubbish heaps, toilet drains, and hospitals. Tommy Jarvis, now a devoted member of the TLC team, shared his deeply personal connection to the home.
Who’s behind TLC?
“I was one of the babies who came through TLC’s doors,” Tommy revealed. “I was taken in at 13 months old after being left in the backyard of a tavern. My birth parents passed away when I was just 3 years old, and I was adopted by the incredible family that founded TLC. This place gave me a second chance at life, and I’m forever grateful.”
To make the donation even more special, Protea Turf Equipment invited the children at TLC to decorate the machine’s cover with their handprints in vibrant paint, creating a lasting personal touch. Sean and Nancy personally delivered the machine to the home, making it a memorable day for the children.

As a token of appreciation for the real heroes—the children themselves—Protea Turf Equipment also brought along party packs to celebrate the occasion.
